2023 march 19: Kathmandu police submitted report to district attorney's office saying the further investigation is not necessary in the passport matter.

2023 Jan 29: rabi obtained Nepali citizenship certificate from the Kathmandu District Administration Office after the rulling from the court.
2022 Jan 27 : the Supreme Court of Nepal ruled that Lamichhane did not follow the due process to re-obtain his Nepali citizenship after renouncing his American citizenship, and thus, the citizenship card he used to run the election is not valid, due to which his candidacy is also not valid. But he can obtain the citizenship card following the due process. He also lost is house of representative, deputy PM & home minister position due to this decision.
2022 Dec 26: became deputy PM and home minister of Nepal.
2022 dec 14: Yuvraj Safal filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against Lamichhane asking the court for his removal from his post as HOR member, and also the head of RSP. Rabi Lamichhane, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Election Commission, Federal Parliament, and District Administration Office Kathmandu have been made defendants in the writ.
